-Sephiroth gets his kitty, Blackie.

I love so much about this ramble. From Rufus’ demented games, to Sephiroth’s subplot to catch Flamey, it’s pretty funny from beginning to end. Plus it has one of the most classic Rufus lines ever. His beauty transcends gender, you know. I also love Rude yelling at Rufus about being portrayed as a leprechaun, Kuja sabatoging Seymour, and Sephiroth tying up Auron with sausage links. I also enjoy Rufus’ freak out at the end, where he hurls the XCubeStation through the TV.

It is painfully obvious that this was supposed to be part of a series of dream rambles starring various characters. These other rambles clearly never came about, but Zell and his Gilligan’s Island parody was supposed to be next. Honestly, this ramble is a study in my laziness because I was originally going to parody the whole movie before I got bored and just ended it. It was probably for the best – I think it only would have suffered had I dragged it on longer. For once you did good, laziness. Also, I have no idea why the date this was put up was not recorded in any way. But it bothers me greatly.

#120 – Highly Flammable

Synopsis
Everyone’s playing with fire, but when the ramble room burns down, who’s to blame? Will they be able to rebuild?

Ramble Milestones

This was my first attempt to get back into the rambles after my life got a little chaotic. My computer had died, and I was changing colleges and hanging out with some new people so I had less time for writing. So I used the ramble room burned down plot as an excuse for my absence. Some of the ways the fires start are awful – the worst being Selphie and her tap shoes. Seriously? That sounds plausible! My favorites are Rufus and co. burning money, and Irvine’s inside marshmallow roast. Why does everyone run away after they start a fire?! It’s called a fire extinguisher people! I also had to roll my eyes at Zell’s rock tumbler – I had one as a kid, and they take forever. Because you know all kids have patience! Two other things I like about this ramble are Sephiroth and Flamey (he has some great lines here) and Cait Sith and his Gray Poupon (so random!) Brady also shows up in this ramble – my then boyfriend, now husband. He hates Algus and it was supposed to be a running gag that he was always trying to kill him, but that never panned out. Neither did trying to restart the rambles this way. It would take me something else to really get me back in the swing.

#119 – Here On Varsity’s Island

I just love this ramble, as I do pretty much every ramble that features the losers. They are just fun to write. Shell helped me with the ideas for this one – my favorite story is Nida’s tour from hell. To be completely honest, I had no idea how they could be rescued and figured it would just be funnier to let it end with them still stranded. Bam. Another ramble mystery. Do you also notice Kefka came to the island, is introduced, and never heard from again the rest of the ramble? I’ll be honest again, I totally forgot about him. But we all know we’re better off not knowing.

The beginning is a poke at myself for there being a lapse between rambles. This was the beginning of when I started getting busy with other things and stopped writing all the time. Of course, the worst lapses were yet to come. This was also written when I was having problems with my computer and had to use my first laptop instead. But I like this ramble anyway, it’s always fun to watch Sephiroth scheme. Oh, and enjoy your small amount of screen time while it lasts, Tidus and Wakka.

I have so much love for this ramble. Usually if I use all the characters things get bulky and it drags, but not this one. When I started writing this, I really didn’t have an ending in mind. It was totally written on the fly. The only thing that leaves me puzzled is the very end with Zack and Cloud – can we assume they got their marriages to their “mystery spouses” annulled? (Doesn’t explain why they’re still wearing the rings…) Besides screaming at them that they married each other. But they can’t hear you.

This was originally written in episodes, with a part being put up each day. The first couple sections are packed full of Bria drama, and the rest is hilarious. This ramble also features the first appearance of Bryatt and the rest of Tseng’s friends, all of whom are my original characters from other stuff. The girl who inspired the character Noelle really was obsessed with taffeta, and Sephy is pretty sweet in this one, which is a rare side I always like to see.
